Kaskad

The next generation of DeFi lending and crypto adoption

Our Global Roadmap
From Internal Testing to Full Decentralization
Kaskad’s roadmap reflects a clear path: build responsibly, test early, and scale with the Kaspa community.

We started with a private prototype before Kaspa smart contracts were live, which provided us with an internal lending engine that helped us validate product flows, interface design, and market appetite. That early version laid the groundwork.

Now, we’re launching a fully decentralized lending protocol by forking AAVE v3.3, tailored for Kaspa’s high-speed architecture. This roadmap outlines each phase of development, from our internal v0 testing to the current decentralized rollout, and future improvements underway.

We share this journey openly to highlight the choices made, the lessons learned, and the steps ahead, without overpromising. Feedback and contributions from the Kaspa ecosystem continue to shape Kaskad’s evolution.

We’ve kept our roadmap tightly scoped, reflecting what’s already in motion. Rather than oversell or overpromise, we’re committed to shipping dependable functionality and letting users verify progress themselves.

V0: Internal Prototype
  • Simulated borrowing and lending experience in a custodial backend without smart contracts
  • Manual liquidation operations directly handled by the internal team
  • Enabled early internal user testing to validate flows, UI, and core logic such as loan-to-value (LTV) and health factor calculations
  • Iterative interface testing led to key UX decisions still present in V1
  • Provided the foundation and insights needed to pivot toward a fully decentralized deployment model upon Kaspa smart contract release
Q3 2025 Underway
V1: Decentralized Launch
  • Fork of AAVE v3.3 protocol, adapted for deployment on the chosen Layer 2’s testnet & mainnet
  • Support for $KAS and all other valuable & supported L2 assets at launch
  • Custom lightweight oracle built using Chainlink Aggregator interfaces, fed by real-time Kaspa price feeds
  • Smart contract–driven liquidation system: when a loan’s health factor drops below 1, the protocol automatically sells collateral to cover the debt and applies a liquidation fee, ensuring system solvency
  • Frontend tools: health factor tracker, repayment dashboard, and alert system
    Various Kaspa wallets integration
  • Kaspa Explorer integration for full on-chain transparency
In Progress
V1 Enhancements
  • Expanded UI with deposit/withdraw UX improvements
    Revshare system modelization
  • Real-time notifications and visual risk indicators
  • Subgraph integration for fast data sync
  • Modular oracle & monitoring stack deployment
  • Improved documentation and educational tools
Q4 2025
V2: Extended Capabilities
  • Support for additional tokens
  • Fiat-backed borrowing via Kaskar, enabling users to borrow off-chain currencies (e.g., USD, EUR) directly against their crypto collateral via trusted partners
  • Kaskad-specific protocol modules under development to support future protocol-level incentives, and more complex risk management strategies

Oracle Timeline
Ensuring Accuracy and Trust
Our oracle system is critical to providing reliable price feeds for lending and liquidation processes. We are committed to building a secure, transparent, and user-centric oracle that evolves over time to meet the needs of our platform and the broader Kaspa DeFi ecosystem.

2025
Phase 1: Oracle Deployment for Smart Contract Liquidations

The first iteration of our oracle was initially planned to support internal operations during the early custodial prototype phase (V0). However, as we are now pivoting toward a fully decentralized V1 powered by smart contracts, the oracle has now been repurposed as a core infrastructure layer for on-chain liquidations and price reliability.

This custom-built oracle is designed specifically for the Kaspa ecosystem and integrates real-time data aggregation from multiple trusted exchanges. It powers liquidation logic and user dashboards by feeding accurate, weighted price information directly into the smart contracts that govern risk management.

Key Features of the Phase 1 Oracle Include:

  • Reliable Price Aggregation: Pulls real-time data from multiple exchange APIs and computes a weighted average to ensure robust pricing across volatile conditions.
  • Smart Contract Compatibility: Built to support AAVE v3.3–based liquidation logic and health factor calculations with minimal latency.
  • Initial Asset Support: V1 includes support for $KAS and other supported assets on the Kaspa L2 layer, with expansion to additional Kaspa-based and wrapped assets planned post-launch.
  • Transparency by Design: Price sources and computation methodology will be documented and publicly auditable to foster community trust.

Phase 2: Next-Generation Oracle Development
Moving forward, Eliott is working in direct supervision with Yonatan, developing an oracle better than what has been done up until now. His blogs, explaining current oracle problematics, as well as his progress, will be tracked on our website for a continuous improvement of the oracle. The users will be notified and will even be allowed to chose which version of the oracle they prefer. All of this will be clearly explained for the user not only to have the most secure oracle, but for educational purposes in order to empower our users to better understand lending platforms.,
